This is Why we Cannot "Opt-Out" of Black History Month

"When you "Opt-Out" of anti-racist education, you are "opting-in" to racism."

Although I have read that after public backlash, this school in Utah has reversed its decision, let's be clear here... there are only 28 days in February.

 If there are places that can't even handle one (short) month of Black history, what does that say about the erasure of it year-round?

Teachers, keep going beyond February.

 Find organic ways to integrate Black history into the examples that you share, your lessons, your storytime, and your conversations... ALL YEAR LONG.
