Tech is Taking Over: Week 4 Wrap Up

Uncategorized Apr 06, 2025

Week 3 of the LIVE "Tech is Taking Over" series with DaVonda St. Clair was filled with gems!

I think it was a reality check—in the best way.

Because the truth is:
Every company is becoming a tech company
Every job is being reshaped by tech
And every professional needs to decide: evolve or be replaced

But here's the great news: you don’t have to code. You don’t need a tech degree. You just need to learn how to make tech work for you.

Here's a recap of Day 9:

Day 9's topic was "How to Become Competitive in Tech (No Matter What Industry You’re In)"

Main Idea: You don’t need to switch careers to apply tech—you can elevate your value right where you are.

We broke down how teachers, managers, therapists, entrepreneurs—anyone—can become more competitive by learning how to use digital tools to work smarter, save time, and make an impact.

Takeaways:

  • Start using tools like ChatGPT, Canva, and Notion for everyday tasks

  • Learn the tech your industry is already using—and lead with it

  • Being tech-savvy increases your value instantly

Action Step:
Pick one tool (like Google Forms, Canva, or a project tracker) and use it to improve how you do your job this week.

If you aren't already paying close attention to canva, the time is now. It's such a useful tool and the Canva team is constantly creating upgrades to the platform.

Let's move on to a recap of day 10, which was deeply focused on the educators. Thank you to all of you who asked such great questions, by the way!

Day 10's topic was "How Educators Can Make Themselves More Valuable With Tech"

Main Idea: Educators are already using tech—but now it’s time to become strategic with it.

Whether you're in a classroom, homeschooling, or training teams—tech can help you do more, reach more, and earn more.

Takeaways:

  • Use ChatGPT to co-write lesson plans, feedback, or differentiate materials

  • Build a digital portfolio of your tech-enhanced teaching

  • Transition your skills into edtech, instructional design, or curriculum roles

Action Step:
Try one of these:
✅ Create a Google Form for student check-ins
✅ Use Canva to design a visual lesson resource
✅ Create a “tech in teaching” brag sheet for your resume

Finally, Day 11!

Day 11: The One Tech Skill Most People Need to Future-Proof Their Careers

Main Idea: The skill that will keep you competitive in any field is knowing how to use AI and digital tools to solve problems.

We dove into tools like ChatGPT and showed how to prompt it to write emails, plan projects, organize data, and support learning—all of which make you more efficient and more valuable.

Takeaways:

  • Prompting is the new “Google it”

  • AI can help you perform better, think faster, and present clearer

  • Learning how to communicate with tech = career power

Action Step:
Use ChatGPT to help with one thing this week:
• Write a professional message
• Brainstorm content
• Break down a task you’re stuck on

Why Week 4 Mattered:

This wasn’t about becoming a tech person.
It was about realizing you already are one.

Tech is no longer optional—and the people who grow with it are the ones who get promoted, protected, and paid.

See you in Week 5, which will be the last full week of the series!
