Stop asking, "What do you want to be when you grow up?"

 

We do children a complete disservice each and every time we ask them the question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" It's limiting and anxiety-inducing.

Two years ago, I completed a TED talk  discussing my experiences with interacting with children around the world and asking them "What  problem do you want to solve?" instead.
